Icom IC-9700 is specially designed for VHF/UHF weak signal operators. It is a 2m and 70cm RF direct sampling receiver with 23cm single down conversion of an IF sampling receiver between 311 – 371MHz. This design provides the powerful features of Icom DSP technology for a quiet receiver, as well as a powerful PA, which can provide 100W at 2m, 75W at 70cm and 10W at 23cm.

Independent receiver, full duplex operation
The IC-9700 can receive in two different frequency bands and two different modes at the same time. For example, you can receive in the 1200 MHz frequency band in SSB mode and 144 MHz frequency band in FM mode. This feature may be an advantage when participating in a competition or looking for weak signals.
