As the world's most advanced and mature dedicated wireless communication system, the Airbus TETRA system has been widely used in metro lines in major cities around the world, including the world's largest transportation wireless communication network-Paris Public Transport Network, Berlin Metro, Hong Kong Metro, Dubai Metro, etc., as well as dozens of metro lines in domestic cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Shenyang, Zhengzhou, Fuzhou, Qingdao, Nanjing, Ningbo, Lanzhou, Urumqi. The Airbus TETRA system meets the needs of various cities for subway wireless communication, and can be easily and flexibly deployed in the subway environment. The advanced Airbus TETRA system provides highly reliable and flexible professional wireless communication applications for the daily vehicle scheduling, operation and maintenance, and safety assurance of the subway.
Airbus has provided hundreds of large-scale digital trunking networks in 80 countries around the world, including more than 30 national digital trunking communication networks in Germany, Finland, Sweden, Belgium, and Spain. In terms of the domestic government network, it provided the Beijing 800M wireless government network, the Guangzhou digital trunking government network, and the Shenzhen emergency command digital trunking communication system. It has successfully served the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, Provided by top international sports and political events such as the Shenzhen World University Movement in 2011, the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games and the Beijing APEC meeting, the 2015 military parade commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s Anti-Japanese War and the World Anti-Fascist War, and the World Track Championship Safe communication guarantee.
The Chinese cities of Fuzhou, Zhengzhou, Chongqing, and Hefei turn once again to Airbus to provide a secure and reliable Tetra communications system and equipment such as TB3 base stations, TMR880i mobile radios, TH9 terminals, and Airbus Tetra Taira servers.
For Fuzhou, the capital of the Fujian province, Airbus will provide a Tetra communication system and equipment to cover the city’s metro Line 5. Fuzhou metro lines 1 and 2 are already equipped with Airbus Tetra communication systems, respectively in operation since 2016 and 2019. In addition, Airbus deploys the Tetra communication system for Fuzhou metro line 6 which is planned to be put in operation in 2021.
Airbus will also provide three new metro lines in Zhengzhou city (Lines 3, 6, and 10) with Tetra systems composed of a Taira server, TB3 base stations, handheld TH9 and TH1n terminals and TMR880i mobile radios. Five operating metro lines (Lines 1, 2, 5, 14 and the Chengjiao Line) of the Henan Province capital already benefit from Airbus Tetra systems which ensure the metro lines’ daily operations.
Airbus Tetra technology and equipment will also be implemented for Chongqing city metro line 9, as well as Hefei’s metro lines 4 and 5, in addition to the existing lines which already use Airbus secure communications technology.
“Despite the unprecedented times we are all facing with the global pandemic, the metro market in China continues to flourish. We are glad to see that Chinese cities are turning to our solutions to ensure the safety of their metro lines. Since they serve millions of passengers every year, they need performant communication solutions,” explains Marko Tiesmaki, Head of the Asia-Pacific region for Secure Land Communications at Airbus.
“Airbus’ renowned technology helps ensure the smooth-running of metro operations on a day-to-day basis and also allows secure and reliable communications between employees and the safe guard of all passengers, at all times” he adds.
