On September 26, 2019, the Ethiopian Power Company announced today the deployment of the Motorola solution for the new ASTRO 25 radio system in the Addis Ababa area of Greater Asia. The new system will help improve the safety of grid operations and maintenance personnel and increase the service levels of millions of customers in the region.
The deployed solution - the Motorola solution's ASTRO two-way radio system - will support Ethiopian Power's mission-critical communications needs, including hundreds of users from service to repair and repair teams.
Some core communications sites are powered by hybrid power and solar systems and include an alternate energy solution to ensure communication is always maintained. The system is highly scalable and is designed to enable Ethiopian power companies to extend coverage to other regions.
