On July 20th, according to Indian media reports, India’s Reliance Industries recently stated that the group’s Jio Platform has developed a set of 5G network solutions that can be deployed in the field next year and will cooperate with Google to develop support 5G network smart phone. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Group, said that the 5G network solution independently developed by Jio Platforms was dedicated to the "Aatma Nirbhar Bharat" (Self-reliant India) project of Indian Prime Minister Modi. Ambani also announced that Google will acquire a 7.7% stake in Jio Platforms with Rs 33.37 billion, and said that Jio Platforms will cooperate with this Google company to develop a mobile operating system.
Currently, Jio Platforms has received capital injections from US companies such as Qualcomm, Facebook, and Google. However, because the Indian government has postponed the auction of 5G spectrum, Jio Platforms' 5G technology may not be tested until next year.
