July 11, 2019 - Motorola Solutions announced the acquisition of US mobile video company WatchGuard, Inc. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
WatchGuard designs and manufactures automotive video systems, body-mounted cameras, evidence management systems and software. Help law enforcement users capture, manage, store and share high quality video evidence. The company is headquartered in Texas, USA.
"Integrated, secure mobile video solutions can increase the security and efficiency of public safety users," said John Kedzierski, senior vice president of video security solutions at Motorola Solutions. “WatchGuard has industry-leading capabilities, from capturing events in a dozen favorable locations to technology, enabling users to recover and upload videos within hours or days after the event.”
The acquisition expands Motorola's mission-critical business by adding its video security solutions, including Avigilon's fixed camera and advanced analytics, as well as Vigilant Solutions' license plate recognition camera and software.
