At Motorola Solutions, the company announced victory in the latest patent infringement lawsuit against Hytera Communications Co., Ltd. in Germany.
This is the second time this year the German court has ruled to support the Motorola solution against Hytera; most importantly, this also applies to Hytera's parent company in China.
The patent lawsuit took place in the District Court of Düsseldorf, Germany, which ruled that hytera's two-way radio (DMR) had a "Pseudo Trunk" and infringed Motorola's patent EP 2 342 851 B1 in a direct TDMA model.
The District Court approved two bans against Hytera. The first ban prohibits Hytera from selling patents in Germany, and the second ban prohibits Hytera from selling the above products in Germany. In addition, it requires Hytera to claim compensation. Although it may be questioned by Hytera, they will be immediately available upon request from Motorola Solutions and the ban will take effect shortly.
