Recently, new provisions related to the 112 emergency call system were discussed at the Turkish Parliament's Planning and Budget Committee. The caller's personal data and location information will be provided to 112.
In this arrangement, personal data will be limited to those who are exposed to the incident, and the information will not be used for any other purpose. According to regulations, telephone and location information will be provided by the Information Technology and Communications Administration to 112 emergency call centers at the request of the Disaster and Emergency Management Agency or the Governor's Office, and only to those affected by the disaster or emergency.
Under the regulation, in disasters and emergencies, phone subscribers and location information about incoming calls is provided to 112 to minimize loss of life and property, respond more effectively to the incident, and re-contact if necessary, will be necessary.
